Job Summary
he MassAI C Business Manager manages business and fiscal opera ions for academic, research, and ou reach ac ivi ies in a large and complex Universi y research cen er. hey work independen ly wi h au hori y o exercise judgmen and ini ia ive. he Business Manager performs s ra egic analyses and financial forecas s o inform Cen er business decisions and implemen s business, financial, and opera ional policies consis en wi h MassAI C and overarching College and Universi y policies.

Essen ial Func ions
- Analyzes, forecas s, and nego ia es funding for MassAI C pilo s, making recommenda ions for shor and long- erm planning ha suppor s Cen er opera ions and goals. Serves as a resource and advisor on various fiscal ma ers.
- Suppor s MassAI C pilo financial responsibili ies, in coordina ion wi h he gran s adminis ra ion office and Cen er leadership, including rou ine moni oring of pilo accoun s, oversigh of agreemen s, and ransac ions wi h ou side academic ins i u ions and indus ry par ners.
- Manages he comple e range of fiscal ac ivi y rela ed o sponsored research including prepara ion of budge proposals and jus ifica ions, final gran compila ion and prepara ion, and proposal submission in adherence o sponsor manda ed financial regula ions. Serves as a liaison be ween Principal Inves iga ors, he Office of Gran s & Con rac s (OGCA), and sponsors.
- Assis s PIs wi h au horized expendi ures o comple e sponsored research projec s. Manages financial opera ions including annual program s a emen and opera ing budge , projec ion of revenue and expenses, and prepara ion and submission of recharge revenue. Ensures ha accura e records of Universi y purchased equipmen are main ained.
- Assis s wi h various Na ional Ins i u es of Heal h (NIH) gran processes, including conversion of applica ions o NIH forma and gran repor ing.
- Ensures compliance wi h universi y policies and procedures surrounding online purchasing, BankCard, ravel program, e c. Represen s he Cen er a College Business Manager mee ings and a execu ive mee ings wi h depar men s and divisions across campus. Liaises wi h Procuremen , he Con roller's Office, and ou side agencies.
- Suppor s adminis ra ive ac ivi ies such as racking in erac ions wi h pilo gran applican s and awardees, main aining calendars, scheduling mee ings, and managing group even s.
- Assis s wi h he day- o-day ac ivi ies and he overall workflow of he projec in coordina ion wi h he Cen er leadership eam.

- Bachelor's Degree and more han hree (3) years of relevan experience or an equivalen combina ion of educa ion and experience.
