Role Description:
The Business Intelligence Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing data used in our BI reporting systems. This position involves working with large datasets, using various analytical tools and techniques, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address business challenges pertaining to data. The BI Data Analyst will work closely with the BI Report Developers and Executive Analysts to develop and test queries, perform quality assurance analyses for reporting solutions and assist in other reporting operations.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a BI Data Analyst will include:
- Protect the information assets of the company, including intellectual property, personally identifiable information, and protected health information, against unauthorized alteration and/or disclosure by appropriately handling and transmitting information in accordance with Safety National policies.
- Preparing and aggregating large data sets for use in upcoming analyses and reports, validating the extracted data for accuracy, and working closely with the appropriate stakeholder to ensure requirements are met
- Trouble-shooting technical problems for databases and reports, partnering with Data Quality to document and address data inconsistencies
- Assisting with requirements gathering, testing and support of the enterprise data warehouse and corresponding data marts
- Assisting in handling incoming data requests
- Generating ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Management or related field; or relevant work experience
Required Qualifications:
- Three to five years’ experience in Business Intelligence development & administration
- Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence suite of tools including, but not limited to, SQL Server and Report Server
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL; experience trouble-shooting complex SQL queries for logic errors and reviewing report outputs for data quality anomalies and data completeness
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; including the confidence to collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong motivation, organization skills, and attention to detail, excelling both in team environments and independently
- Ability to work under pressure, quickly and positively adapt to change, and meet deadlines on complex and varied tasks
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, preferably Power BI
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of SQL
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Advanced knowledge of Power BI
- Experience in the insurance industry
- One or more approved certifications within job area

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range.
