Job Description
The Senior BI Analyst has demonstrated expertise in Data Visualization by achieving industry certification and/or is sought out within the ministry and/or community for their expertise in this area. This position has the same goal and function that defines their team that follows with the added function of training and mentoring others in their team to the same level. This position is responsible for meeting with clinical and operations leaders to understand their information needs, using their experience and knowledge of available data make recommendations for the best way to visualize information and to effectively develop insightful content that supports change based upon actionable information.

Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for taking existing data and combining with new data to create data sources / data marts needed to meet the analytic requests of operations leaders across the enterprise
- Responsible for the design and development of highly interactive, highly effective self-service data tools in BI applications like Power BI
- Partnering with business unit teams to understand their operational needs, recommend solutions, assure compliance with standards and develop processes and tools that help automate effective data delivery and reduce resource utilization and redundancy
- Responsible to be highly engaged in the overall Data Governance of the organization. It is imperative that all positions in Analytics take an active role in the development, documentation and on-going maintenance of a highly effective enterprise Data Governance operation
- Responsible for managing all upgrades, updates and impacts to the BI platforms used and assuring that all Data Sources and existing BI Assets are properly updated and maintained to assure that there is no loss of information continuity in the organization
- Responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate security access to BI Assets to assure compliance with all BSMH compliance and IT security policies. PHI delivered in the BI applications must be restricted to only those authorized and must be protected effectively
- Responsible for developing effective validation processes between the data sources and the BI Asset to assure accurate and timely availability of reliable information as the BI Assets are the most public representation of Analytics and need to be trusted for Analytics to be successful
Employment Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: BS Degree
Specialty/Major: Information Technology, Information Management
Preferred Education: Master’s Degree
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 5
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Must be proficient BI tools and be proficient with SQL, experienced with various database programs, experienced with ETL tools, comfortable with MS Office and have a deep understanding of the Healthcare system and experienced working with clinicians, operations and business leaders.
