Job description

Business Information Security Officer (BISO)
A culture of diverse perspective. Coworkers who collaborate to go above and beyond. Motivated individuals who lead by example. This is what CDW is about. Our legacy of innovative thinking and vision for customer centric technology positions us for continued success in our industry—and for you in your career.

What you will do:
Your role at CDW is of the utmost importance to the company’s mission, objectives, and reputation. As the Business Information Security Officer, you will help elevate our cybersecurity program by unifying global cybersecurity practices across CDW business units. Partnering closely with the chief Information Security officer and security leadership team, you will ensure alignment and achievement of CDW’s global operating model, strategy, and critical objectives. Your responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the strategy to unify and enhance global cybersecurity practices, ensuring a consistent security bar across CDW’s business unit technology ecosystems.
  • Security Solution Rationalization: Evaluate, rationalize, and optimize cybersecurity technology stacks to enhance security, reduce complexity, and ensure alignment with global standards and solutions.
  • Global Standards Alignment: Drive the adoption of global cybersecurity practices, standards, and services across diverse business units and geographies.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead efforts to ensure security processes and tools are operating effectively—e.g., access control, change management, and vulnerability management. Work closely with IT and development teams to ensure timely and effective remediation of operational issues and remediation of business unit-owned vulnerabilities.
  • Product Security: Ensure strong security measures are embedded in the product development lifecycle, from design through deployment, aligning with industry best practices and global Information Security standards.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Develop and implement meaningful metrics to evaluate progress and effectiveness of cybersecurity initiatives and capabilities. Regularly report on progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with global cybersecurity teams, IT, product development, and business leaders to foster a culture of risk/threat awareness and compliance.
  • Incident Response: Contribute to the incident response plan, ensuring readiness to address and mitigate security incidents promptly across CDW’s business units.
  • People Leader: lead and manage a high-performing, hands-on team.

What we expect from you:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Information Security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • We value experience, skills, drive, aptitude, and attitude over university degrees and certifications.
  • Experience in managing cybersecurity in a distributed environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement security metrics and reporting mechanisms.
  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across different levels and functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security issues.
  • Experience in vulnerability management and product security best practices.
  • Willingness to be a hands-on, player-coach.

What you can expect from us:

  • Diverse, award-winning culture and work/life benefits.
  • An inclusive culture that empowers you to bring your best true self and your best ideas. We know diverse perspectives lead to better problem solving and better solutions for our customers.
  • A learning environment that empowers you to develop your career with comprehensive resources and support, ongoing education and skills-development training, and robust advancement opportunities.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage; coworker stock purchase program; paid vacation time and sick days; tuition reimbursement; coworker discounts; and other generous perks.
