We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager for our sister company, Ford Steel to support the Mountain West Territory, covering Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado. The successful candidate will generate new and diverse sales opportunities and be a liaison between customers and inside sales while exemplifying our Core Values.
Ford Steel is a renowned provider of abrasion resistant plate and bar products, as well as fabrication services, catering to the mining, quarry, and construction industries. With a rich history of 77 years, we have established ourselves as an industry leader by offering a wide range of readily available inventory.
Candidates may be located in Elko, NV; Salt Lake City, UT; or Boise, ID.
Responsibilities:
- Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads
- Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services meet those needs
- Acts as a liaison between customer contacts and Ford Steel inside sales team
- Contributes to the development of sales forecasts and market trend analysis
- Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale
- Maintains detailed reports of sales activities, including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems
- Measures up in the field: buckets, trucks, crushes, etc.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Business Development Representative in the metals service center industry or equal experience in the mining or aggregate industry
- Previously established network relationships with OEM’s, military contractors, mining/aggregate, and construction firms
- Expertise in steel fabrication processes such as CNC processing, cut-to-length, coping, forming and other value-added services
- Open to travel to client sites and attend industry events
- Proven track record in sales and customer service
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
