We are seeking a Business Development Officer to assist First Atlantic Federal Credit Union to live out our Mission and Vision by working directly with the VP of Services and Operations, looking to expand its loan portfolio in the commercial lending sector. This is an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Loan Officer with strong Business Development skills to grow our small business loan portfolio by calling on small businesses in Monmouth, Ocean and surrounding counties. Your focus will be to generate quality loans and corresponding business deposits.
Job Summary
First Atlantic Federal Credit Union located in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, N.J., is looking to expand its loan portfolio in the commercial lending sector. This is an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Loan Officer with strong Business Development skills to grow our small business loan portfolio by calling on small businesses in Monmouth, Ocean and surrounding counties. Your focus will be to generate quality loans and corresponding business deposits.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintaining the relationship with existing small business borrowers, as well as maintenance activities related to the portfolio.
- Develop prospect list of potential small business members.
- Call on small business prospects within Monmouth and Ocean counties.
- Develop a referral network of Accountants, Attorneys and Commercial Realtors
- Assemble loan packages and facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including interest rate, fees, terms and repayment options.
- Compiles and analyzes market research data in order to develop or increase the competitiveness of current offerings.
- Works closely with Branches and supports Branch Managers in their Business Development efforts.
- Provides loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required. MBA desirable
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience.
- A proven track record of small Business Development and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail orientated.
- Existing book of business in Monmouth, Ocean and surrounding counties would be a plus.
