Job description

Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Hybrid (DMV)
The BD Manager blends the love of research with the desire to build new relationships and grow her/his community of partners. S/he is responsible for monitoring industry databases to identify new opportunities for growth leaders, while building and maintaining the partner vehicle relationships that directly generate new business. S/he thrives in a high energy and fast-paced, high growth environment and responds to changing demands easily. S/he is self-motivated, confident, analytical, outgoing, and always learning. Key responsibilities include:
Vehicle Champion
  • Monitor, research, and analyze databases such as Sam.gov, GSA eBuy, BGov, usaspending.gov, etc., to gather industry and government market details related to new and existing contract opportunities.
  • Rapidly identify, qualify, and distribute solicitations (RFI, Sources Sought, Marketing Research, RFP) to growth leaders with substantive analysis.

Community Builder
  • Maintain PBG partner database in Salesforce by vehicle and account.
  • Attend Industry Day Conferences and networking events (in person) to increase awareness of PBG's capabilities inside the community.

Research Enthusiast
  • Triage and respond to internal research need according to internal SLAs

Bid and Proposal Support
  • Support full spectrum Business Development, capture, and proposal activities.
    • Perform accounting, partner, and opportunity research through gated Business Development process.
    • Manage client relationships and call planning to understand business needs, observe and interview, forge deep connections, analyze competitors and trends, and position PBG.
    • Translate technical concepts, hot buttons, and win strategies into white papers, market research, and proposal writing.

Requirements:
  • 3-5 years in market intelligence, research, Business Development, and proposal development
  • Active involvement in the government contracting community through professional development organizations (e.g., ACT-IAC, AFCEA, etc.)
  • Experience using SAM.gov, GSA Ebuy, and other research platforms.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including written and interpersonal.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve specific goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM

  • Must possess strong analytical, organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism in providing client support, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
  • Existing network in Tier 1 and 2 agencies to include HHS, DHS, Treasury, GSA, NASA, OPM.
  • Experience working in strategy and design and digital transformation.
