Sales Purpose: To build strong and lasting relationships with SDMyers and electric power system owners, and position SDMyers as the preferred solution provider. To turn interest in SDMyers solutions into a commitment:

  • Build relationships and manage interactions,
  • Connect electric power system owners with the right fit solution,
  • and Secure commitments

Position Purpose: The purpose of this role is to generate new business opportunities by using outbound phone and e-commerce contact to potential new prospects, former customers, and multi-site customers within identified target markets. The expectation for this role is to have a consultative approach to help understand the customer’s needs as it relates to a Reliability Centered Maintenance system. Success in this role will generate new leads for Sales team members to convert into new customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact potential opportunities using internet, phone, and mail. Utilize customer lists, multi-site lists, and follow-up on ERAM and MDT leads.
  • Independently research and identify the best target markets for prospecting campaigns.
  • Determine who is the decision maker and/or influencer to help future prospecting efforts.
  • Discriminate which contacts need additional follow-up and which contacts need a new approach and/or should be included in future campaigns.
  • Generate new leads by focusing on SDM targeted markets and former customers that have gone cold.
  • Create, design, and utilize creative e-mails to contact potential customers.
  • Engage and follow up with Sales Teams on the prospects generated to get feedback and status updates.
  • Create, develop, and implement campaigns that will boost sales during slower seasonal periods.
  • Interact with the Live Chat communications and track the leads generated to the different Sales groups.
  • Provide analysis from activities involving certain targeted surveys or marketing campaigns.
  • Update information in the CRM after interacting with prospect.
  • Determine whether prospects should be categorized as Mandated, Endorsed, or Autonomous for future sales efforts.
  • Prioritize prospecting activities based on customer size and potential.
  • Independently decide where to invest additional time and resources to generate the maximum number of viable prospects.
  • Performs related duties as requested.

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in customer service or telemarketing sales.
  • Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and be able to navigate through general Windows applications.
  • Database experience preferred.
  • Use of Salesforce a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess excellent communication skills – e-mail/letter composition, comfortable speaking with customers by phone.
  • General knowledge of SDM product and services
  • Ability to listen, acknowledge, and explore through open ended questions in order to better understand customer needs.
  • Attention to detail, creative thinking, and professionalism.
  • Must have a strong sense of team commitment, integrity, initiative which includes meeting deadlines, punctuality, and excellent follow through.
  • Ability to work independently, problem solving and consistently have a high call volume and activity level.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM

 

Work Conditions

  • The work for this position is conducted indoors, in a conventional office environment, in an office or cubicle workstation, with low noise.


Physical Demands

While working, the ability to:

  • perform work at workstation for extended periods of time, typically at least 8 hours a day, sometimes more or less if business needs require.
  • occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs.;
