Business Development Intern (Paid)

FC Renew, LLC, is an early-stage deep tech development company enabling the hydrogen transition and accelerating electrification of essential hardware and systems for defense and commercial use. Our core technology is a life-extension renewal process for proton exchange membrane hydrogen fuel cells for transportation applications that extends their lifetimes by 6x while creating a 5.3x reduction in total cost of ownership. Our research and development is currently supported and funded by the U.S. Army, U.S. Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, and LaunchTN.

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our fast-paced team at our main research laboratory at the Spark Innovation Center of the University of Tennessee's Cherokee Farms Campus (Knoxville, TN).

As a Business Development Intern, you will:

• Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges in the fuel cell industry.
• Perform technoeconomic analyses to assess the economic viability and competitiveness of our fuel cell solutions compared to existing alternatives.
• Engage in stakeholder discovery by identifying and maintaining a database of key industry players, potential partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Contribute to the development of commercialization plans for grant proposals, marketing materials, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to fuel cells and electrolyzers.

Required qualifications:

• Ability to analyze market data, financial information, and industry trends to make data-driven decisions and recommendations
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task effectively

Preferred qualifications:

• Pursing a degree in Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Passion for innovation and entrepreneurship
• Previous experience in energy or clean tech industry
• Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting
• Experience with customer development and engagement
