Peraton is seeking a Business ContinuityTechnical Project Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will directly support operations and Business Continuity readiness through project management, coordination support, technical writing and assist with team deliverables. This work will require subject matter expertise in Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning and Business Continuity operations; IT operations centers and IT incident management emergency preparedness and incident management, Test, Training, and Exercise (TT&E) development and execution; a variety of software tools; technical writing; and project management.
Must be local to the DC Metro area.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities::
- Serve as Project Manager for cross-functional teams of 30+ people to develop and maintain Business Continuity and COOP documentation, including but not limited to policies, standards, governance models, program procedures, run-books, tools and templates.
- Coordinate with business functions to update Business Continuity Program activities such as tabletop, functional and full-scale exercises.
- Manage and track projects and action items relating to the Business Continuity management project.
- Conduct the annual plan review of all BCP and COOP plans, complete rating scorecard and manage plan review approval process ensuring all planners and managers sign-off.
- Assist with facilitating regular capability planning and information-sharing forums, to include scheduling meetings, developing meeting materials, and documenting and tracking action items.
- Responsible for communicating project status across delivery teams, senior leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Assist with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) with the COOP Support activities, to include tracking local and national weather and natural hazard events, writing situation reports, and tracking deployed assets.
- Partner with customer to maintain and develop operations and exercise content in the ServiceNow knowledge base and CMDB.
- Attend Business Impact Analysis and other project related working groups and the coordination and scheduling of meetings as required, assisting BC by writing meeting summaries and documenting action items associate with the Business Impact Analysis.

- Travel to alternate sites for capability development and assessments, and in support of continuity planning and exercise planning and execution.
- Stay abreast of current continuity standards, best practices, technologies, and other resources from industry and government, bringing suggestions to BC staff.
- Manage multiple initiatives, driving timely decisions.
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Human IT Management, Homeland Security, Emergency/Crisis Management or a related field with 5 years’ experience or MS degree and 3 years’ experience or high school diploma/equivalent and minimum 9 years’ experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in Business Continuity, crisis planning, emergency management, and Technical Project/change management.
- Ability to operate in a fast paced and high stress operations environment while managing multiple streams of work simultaneously is required.
- Strong communicator, ability to concisely communicate complex information.
- Experience with Agile development methodology.
- Experience with Business Continuity and related principles/standards.
- MS Office Proficiency (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Project).
- Experience with trouble ticketing system—currently using Service Manager.
- Strong ITIL service management knowledge around service design, change management, incident management, and continuity management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (DRII CBCP) or equivalent industry certification and Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalents preferred.
- PMP Certification/Six Sigma Certification.
- Expertise with Enterprise Change Standards.
