Job description

The ITS I functions as a lead on large and automation projects and enterprise projects as needed and provides direction to peers and lower-level staff. They are a go-to technical resource for advice, guidance, support, and expertise in IT application design, system architectures, automation, and systems integration business challenges and opportunities. They provide technical expertise in the design, development and implementation of IT solutions with an emphasis on Business Automation. The ITS I will work closely with Product Analysts and business stakeholders to help identify automation opportunities, document, them and provide solid solutions that align with architectural guidelines, can be added to backlog and then worked on in planned predetermined releases/sprints.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
This position is a teleworking position, and may require traveling expected in the Sacramento offices (travel at employee' expense). Teleworking equipment will be provided.
The salary offer for this position will start in the lowest range. State salary negotiations are only viable for selected candidates who can demonstrate ability to command more than the starting rate in a comparable position.

Working Conditions
DHCS has embraced a hybrid work environment. Regular or recurring telework may occur as part of the incumbent's ongoing regular schedule per DHCS's Telework Policy, in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200-14203.
Telework is based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and/or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200 - 14203 for employees residing in California.
Should the incumbent ever need to report to an office, they will need to report to a DHCS office located in Downtown Sacramento.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • Experience with Robotics Process Automation (RPA)
  • Experience with Business Analysis and Business Process Re-engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Automation tools including Power Pages, Power Apps, Power Automate
  • Strong SQL experience
  • Experience with UiPath Automation
  • Experience with API programming and program integration with tools such as SharePoint, Jira, and Service Now RPA Hub
  • Able to look at big picture and visualize opportunities for streamlining processes.
