Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and certification in a related field such as Accounting, Business Administration, or Business Management required
- Focus on finance and accounting preferred

- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook, and able to work in a Microsoft 365 environment:
- Must demonstrate familiarity with database applications and project management tools
- Must demonstrate 92-95% accuracy in data entry testing
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to develop spreadsheets that utilize formulas, sort, and filter functions.
- Must be able to review and compare exported database files for accuracy.
- Must be able to develop templates within the Microsoft 365 environment (Word) to accept mail merge operations.
- Must be able to perform mail merge functions accurately within a Microsoft 365 environment (Excel and Word)
- Must have and maintain a valid, state-issued Driver's License with previous 3 years' safe driving history
- Must adhere to Food Bank of the Albemarle's Drug and Alcohol Policy
- Must authorize a North Carolina Criminal Record Check and Motor Vehicle Report
General Description
The Business Administration Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Director of Finance and Business Manager with clerical duties associated with donor receipting, billing and other routine office tasking. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Principal Activities:
- Assist Development and Finance Departments with data entry and correspondence to financial donors
- Mail merge, personalize, and mail Thank You letters to donors
- Process donation receipts and agency payments
- Maintain data integrity and develop systems to check data accuracy across multiple databases
- Run special reports and queries for department managers as needed
- Assist with editing and formatting of organizational documents
- Efforts will be in compliance with Feeding America guidelines, align with the Food Bank of the Albemarle's policies, and in cooperation with the agencies the Food Bank serves.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Must occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an office environment
- Operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movements and fine coordination including use of keyboard.
- Visual acuity performing activities including but not limited to preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
Travel
- Minimal travel may be required within the service area
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
