Job Description
Who We Are Looking For:
- Coordinate bus schedule with Program Supervisor.
- Take an accurate attendance report and log mileage in bus log after every trip.
- Insure general maintenance (gas, oil,, and tires) are checked daily and that adjustments and corrections are made.
- Inform Program Supervisor of any minor or major damages or repairs needed on bus.
- Insure the safety of all passengers riding the bus.
- Check the bus at all drop off locations to ensure that all passengers have exited.
- Make recommendations for the improvement of transportation to Program Supervisor.
- Work all dates pertaining to transportation of participants.
- Carry out all duties assigned by the Program Supervisor.
- Notify DRC of any disciplinary issues that may occur.
- Arrive and Leave at selected locations on time.
- Follow the dedicated bus route established by the DRC for every trip unless road work, detours or unsafe driving conditions cause for deviations. Driver is to notify DRC staff of temporary route if this occurs.
- Notify DRC staff in advance of any schedule conflicts or needed time off.
- Fuel bus routinely.
- Inspect bus post transportation and remove any trash or debris on bus.
- Perform all related work as required by supervisors.
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma is preferred.
- Some experience driving buses or other large vehicles with a valid CDL license.
- Need to have the ability to see, sit, stand and walk about.
- Must posses an audible voice for communication and ability to lift light equipment.
- Responsible individual with a proven driving record and qualifications (valid CDL with school bus, passenger, and air brakes endorsement) to operate a passenger bus.
- Must be able to pass a pre employment screening.
