JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include:
- Providing ongoing assessment of burn patient progress and to coordinate multiple services involved in patient management.
- Providing direct nursing care for the burn patient during the resuscitation and evaluation phase communicating with referring facilities and primary care providers.
- Assisting in data collection for performance improvement activities.
- Facilitate and coordinate process improvement between all departments involved in the management of burn patient.
- Assist in the development of burn policies and procedures.
- Participate in research projects; coordinate selected aspects of the Burn Performance Improvement Program.
- Act as a resource and consultant to all patient care areas regarding nursing care of the burn patient perform related duties as assigned.
Work schedule: .75 (60 hrs. per pay period)l Day Shift
Required Qualifications:
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Bachelor’s degree/current enrollment in baccalaureate program.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Six years clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting to include at least:
- Two years in a critical care area and/or emergency setting
- Four years providing nursing care to burned patients.
- The above experiences may be concurrent.
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota
- Current ACLS and PALS certification
- Current Advanced Burn Life Support certification
- Currently certified or able to obtain certification as a Certified Burn Registered Nurse within one year of hire
