As our BUILDING ENGINEER (Engineer 1), you will operate, maintain and repair systems throughout the Rose Quarter related to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. You'll assist with event set-up, keeping up-to-date records of equipment operations, maintaining safety equipment, and other repairs as needed.
***The hourly rate for the Engineer I role with LME is $45/hr plus an employer pension contribution of $5.50 per hour for all compensable hours to the Central Pension Fund of the IUOE.

As our BUILDING ENGINEER (Engineer 1), you will operate, maintain and repair systems throughout the Rose Quarter related to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. You'll assist with event set-up, keeping up-to-date records of equipment operations, maintaining safety equipment, and other repairs as needed.

DAY-TO-DAY:
- Maintaining the building's Fire Life safety equipment.
- Starting and checking equipment for accurate operation.
- Reading meters, gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals in order to verify operation conditions.
- Operating the building management system and other equipment related to the making of ice for hockey and other ice shows.
- Performing preventative maintenance on building's HVAC equipment.
- Performing miscellaneous repair work incidental to operating duties.
- Assisting with event preparations and post-event needs as necessary; e.g., set-ups, clean-up etc. - Keeping records of operations, temperatures, pressures, and fuel consumed, etc.
- Responding and looking after plumbing, electrical, temperature, and other miscellaneous trouble calls.
- Providing mentorship or instruction to teammates and employees by demonstrating how to perform certain tasks, procedures or solve problems.
WE'D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
- You have completed the State of Oregon apprenticeship for Operating Engineers or equivalent.
- You have 4 years of experience as an Operating Engineer in a large commercial facility.
- You possess an LME electrical license.
- You possess a CFC universal card.
- You are knowledgeable about DDC software.
- You are technically savvy and can operate a PC and associated Windows applications.
- You know how to operate, maintain and repair low-pressure boilers, centrifugal chillers and plumbing fixtures.
- You understand gas and electric welding used in the fabrication process.
- You love collaborating and working alongside other facility personnel, tenants and clients.
- You have a passion for leadership and can lead all aspects of a work crew, as required.
- You are hardworking and possess knowledge of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic controls.
- You are willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as directed by events scheduled.
