Job Description

As a Building CAD Drafter, you will:

A Day in the life of a Building CAD Drafter:
- Update and organize AFRC's as-built drawings and information models, including for B703 and the Aero Institute, using AutoCAD and Revit Architecture.
- Verify facility details such as location, dimensions, and materials for electronic drawing integration.
- Perform field verifications of facilities, site improvements, and utilities to document as-built conditions.
- Update and create AutoCAD and Revit BIM files based on redlined drawings, field data, and project discussions, including comprehensive updates for building additions.
- Develop and maintain a digital library of drawings, models, and specifications, along with a catalog for NASA Facility Project Managers and contract staff, ensuring easy file retrieval.
- Update Center-wide site maps in AutoCAD, accurately representing subsurface and surface utilities for future location efforts.
- Conduct site visits to gather data for updating electronic files, ensuring precise as-built descriptions.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in facilities related work.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Must pass drug testing.
- Proficient in reading and writing English.
- Strong interpersonal and team communication skills
- Commitment to safety principles and practices.
- Able to work under supervision and handle feedback professionally.
- Regular attendance required, except for approved absences.
- Availability during core hours (8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), with some flexibility.
- Some local and long-distance travel expected.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary/hourly range for this position is $60,000- $90,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
