Job Description
We are looking for a Building Estimator/Construction assistant that is a dynamic individual.
This individual will work under the supervision of Senior Estimator in all aspects of estimating total construction project, including value engineering client projects. A highly visible position within the company and is a role decidedly involved for the project development phase. The software you use to run the buildings is very simple and easy and fun to learn!
We have been in business for almost 30 years and advertise with top media personalities and major networks spending millions in advertising each year. Some of our clients consist of Tesla, Mercedes, GM, Disney and NASA to name a few.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completing a large volume of project estimates.
- Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
- Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes.
- Resolve cost differences by analyzing and collecting info.
- Navigates and understands building codes.
- Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction.
- Provide competitive estimates on structural and divisional items for steel projects.
- Utilize vendor software to provide accurate quotes while paying attention to the building codes for each county or city.
- Maintain the accuracy of all databases, including ACT 4.0 and Microsoft CRM.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- 1-2 years related experience.
- Good math skills
- Experience with steel structure estimating preferred not required.
- Must be well versed in MS Office (Must be proficient with Excel).
- Must have worked in a similar capacity managing multiple projects at a time.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with divergent groups required.
- Must have a clean background.
- Must be local.
