BSN Educator (Obstetrics)
Teaching & Evaluation:
- Collaborate with fellow instructors in exam preparation, administration, and grading for the course.
- Ensure class attendance, grade maintenance, and timely submissions.
- Participate in strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to uphold program quality.
Instructional Support:
- Orientate new faculty in theory and clinical settings for the courses.
- Implement teaching principles tailored to adult learners.
- Integrate online activities to enhance course content during interactive teaching.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate student records and aid in program data collection.
- Timely submission of program reports and forms to the Program Director.
- Keep abreast of technological advancements and safety regulations.
Clinical Experience:
- Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in healthcare facilities.
- Evaluate student performance in clinical learning outcomes per departmental policies.
- Provide immediate feedback on clinical performance and maintain related records.
Facility Coordination:
- Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility requirements.
- Assess clinical facilities for meeting health and safety standards for student attendance.
Student Support:
- Facilitate ongoing communication by scheduling office hours and utilizing various communication methods.
- Participate in student advising activities.
Qualifications:
- No prior teaching experience required; comprehensive Faculty Development training provided.
- Valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
- Master of Nursing or higher degree with coursework in nursing, education, administration, OB, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry.
- Minimum of four years' experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse.
- One year of clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching counts as direct patient care).
- Expertise in OB-Gyn, Pediatrics, or related nursing areas.
