Alliance Medical Center is currently seeking a Part Time Breastfeeding Peer Counselor (30 hours per week, .75 Part Time) for our WIC Department

What you will do at AMC:
The Breastfeeding Peer Counselor is an entry level role and assists mothers who wish to breastfeed to succeed with their breastfeeding plans, with the goal of breastfeeding for at least one year per the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendation.
The BPC will:
• Provides basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to new mothers
• Attends breastfeeding training classes
• Assists with prenatal breastfeeding classes or support groups
• Counsels pregnant and breastfeeding mothers by phone and in the WIC office
• Data entry and maintains information in computer software database program
Requirements
Position Requirements:
• High School Diploma required
• Bilingual Spanish, written and verbal required
• Personal experience exclusively breastfeeding a baby for at least six months is preferred but not required

If hired, you will be required to prove that you have received the COVID- 19 vaccine or have a valid religious or medical reason not to be vaccinated. Employees with valid exemptions will be required to undergo weekly testing as required by the California Department of Public Health.
