Reports To: Assistant General Manager and General Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position summary
The Breakfast Host works under the direction of the Assistant General Manager and the General Manager. His or her responsibilities include following a daily schedule, performing proper cleaning of the breakfast area, guest service & satisfaction, food preparation, ordering and purchasing, and ensuring the overall success of the hotel.
Primary Responsibilities
· Setting up and maintaining the breakfast area in an attractive, abundant looking, organized, clean, and standardized presentation
· Taking inventory of food, beverages, and supplies needed for each day
· Ordering or purchasing food supplies as needed
· Storing and stocking all breakfast area items in an orderly fashion
· Follows Food Safety Procedures
· Uses gloves to prepare and serve food and washes hands regularly to maintain sanitation
· Preparing food and beverage such as fresh fruit, coffee, and juices
· Preparing hot food such as precooked eggs, sausage, and oatmeal
· Setting up serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups, and other products
· Setting out/arranging cold food such as pasties, muffins and cereal
· Clearing and cleaning tables as they are vacated
· Wiping up spills
· Removing trash
· Restocking food and supplies as needed
· Washing serving equipment and returning it to storage
· Returns reusable food supplies to storage
· Vacuums and sweeps carpet and floors
· Mops floors
· Dusts, brushes, polishes, and vacuums furniture
· Inspects areas for safety hazards & for the operating conditions of equipment
· Reports lost and found articles to the Manager On Duty
· Reports maintenance issues (common areas) to your immediate supervisor and maintenance
· Speaks to guests in a friendly, attentive manner, and resolves issues for them as needed
· Communicates guest issues and resolutions to Manager On Duty to be included in MOD report
· Follows guidelines set forth in the Team Member Handbook
· Performs any other job related duties assigned by a supervisor
Physical Requirements
· Stands and walks short distance throughout shift
· Daily use of stairs
· Ability to lift and carry approximately 25lbs
