Position Description
The Brand Manager role is a critical member of the Brand Marketing team, supporting our high-growth business goals and helping to build the Weleda equity in N.A. He or She will be responsible for owning the innovation pipeline and delivering growth in their respective categories. They must understand the market environment, consumer insights, and brand equity to translate that knowledge into successful strategic plans and execution. The Brand Manager should also be a digital media expert with the ability to develop and monitor media campaigns to drive revenue growth across channels including paid social, paid search and display. The successful candidate must be highly organized and detail-oriented, be proficient in data analysis and insight mining, and be able to work well cross-functionally and with agency partners.
This role will be working out of the Weleda North America head quarter office in Irvington, NY (20 miles North of New York City). This position qualifies for a flexible work schedule, at Supervisor's discretion and 4 weeks' vacation. Specific Responsibilities
Innovation & Activation Lead
  • Business lead/expert and growth driver for the following categories: Baby, Showers/Bath, Men's, Deodorants, Body Oils, Hair Care, Oral Care
  • Manage all global and local launches from product concept [liaising with global marketing team] through to launch date, including but not limited to:
    • Conduct market and product opportunity assessment within the NA market
    • Understand competitive environment, formulas, claims, et al to provide perspective on NA positioning for all innovation launches within above categories
    • Develop category growth and sell in story for internal stakeholders and external retailer or agency partners
    • Manage all day-to-day marketing activities to ensure successful launches and ongoing support
    • Develop size of prize and pricing recommendation. Continue to adjust/manage forecasts before, during, and after launches
    • Lead for local claims development and packaging recommendation
  • Responsible for developing and presenting strategic brand plans to global marketing team on respective categories as well as local monthly project presentations to NALT team members

Performance Digital Media Lead
  • Lead for digital media campaign management and monitoring across digital platforms in order to grow new user base
    • Work with Senior Brand Manager to execute digital media strategy across all categories [not just those He or She is responsible for] to drive revenue via paid search, paid social, display and others based on innovation activation needs
    • Develop KPIs for all campaigns based on industry benchmarks and business goals
      • Monitor this performance based on key metrics such as revenue, ROAS, CTR, CPC, CPA
    • Analyze and report on campaign data to assist with weekly/monthly optimizations across platforms
    • Collaborate with creative, influencer, affiliate, organic and CRM team leads to ensure consistency in message and objectives
    • Remain up-to-date with latest market trends and maintain pulse on competitor media environment. Expand potential by recommending new platforms, targeting, technologies, et al

Additional Responsibilities
  • Local white space innovation lead, outside of global launch pipeline
  • Holiday pack creation and execution
  • Monthly/Quarterly analytics & insights lead
    • Analyze, understand and report on various data points across multiple data platforms. Must be able to not only read data, but develop actionable insights and report out to local marketing/Ecomm/sales teams
  • Expo West Marketing lead
    • Brief and manage agency creating visual brand identity at Expo West trade show. Includes video creation, booth merchandising/display, educational collateral
  • Flow-through packaging change lead across all categories
  • TerraCycle partnership owner
  • Monthly Budget Tracker manager

Necessary Technical Skills and Prior Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or other related field required [MBA a plus]
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in brand management, product/innovation management, digital marketing
  • Personal care & beauty experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools [Google analytics, Nielsen, IRI, Spins]
  • Comprehensive understanding of how to manage a P&L
  • Highly organized with strong experience in managing project timelines
  • Must have solid organizational skills, be able to multitask, and be good with time-management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A high level of energy and self-motivation
  • A commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint
