Location
Candidates must be located within the greater Chicago area with the ability to travel easily within the Chicagoland area. Currently, the office location is 1850 West Fulton in Chicago. In August, Intelligentsia will move to 7300 S Central Ave in Bedford Park.
Position Summary
The Manager of Brand Content & Community is responsible for creating premium and professional photography and video content, fostering the content strategy, owning the entire creation process from creative concept to post shoot editing. This role also is required to think holistically about integrated campaigns at Intelligentsia and ensure multiple channels are considered within creative work. This role is pivotal in communicating and building content around product launches, maintaining our voice online, and engaging with our social media community.
Duties & Responsibilities
Content Creation
  • Create professional photography and video content tied to campaign initiatives, product releases, event coverage, and coffeebar experiences.
  • Shoot and capture content in lifestyle settings, coffeebars and studio environments, comfortable working in all types of lighting - natural and photography studio lighting.
  • Create engaging social media style content including Reels, Stories, TikToks, and grid posts. Demonstrate a deep understanding of what's trending and maintain a perspective on formatting content (music, subtitles, graphical overlays, aspect ratios), ensuring Intelligentsia is always portrayed in a premium context.
  • Help coordinate shoots and production with our external marketing agencies and partners where needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing channel leads including eCommerce, retail, and coffee teams. Sourcing content stories and speaking with subject matter experts.

Content Strategy
  • Lead and develop content strategy alongside the Director of Brand Marketing, formulating proper cadence, tone of voice, and ensuring alignment of our messaging with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Proactively strategize and come up with new content opportunities for social, email, and other digital channels aligned with our brand's objectives and product release schedule.
  • Manage a social media calendar, ensuring tie-ins to all cross-channel initiatives and goals.
  • Discover opportunities for integrated campaign alignment across social, email, wholesale partners, coffeebars and eCommerce.
  • Keep up to date on content trends and identify opportunities to grow audiences with these opportunities.

Community Management
  • Manage day to day social media and community platforms (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest). Respond to inquiries and engage with followers.
  • Report quarterly on social media platform analytics and performance, tracking growth and KPIs.
  • Maintain social calendar and posting cadence feeding into our larger marketing calendar and ensuring alignment.

Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred. BFA in photography will also be considered.
  • Proficient photography and video skills using DSLR cameras, lighting, and professional photography equipment are necessary. A portfolio showcasing past work is required.
  • 5+ years of brand experience required at a consumer brand or a creative agency.

  • Experienced in photography, videography, and post editing
  • Experience required with photo editing software (Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop) and video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Capcut, etc.)
  • Lighting skills are required. Must be able to set up studio lighting and apply artificial lighting to conditions in lifestyle settings on the go.
  • Excellent written skills, both short and long-form.
  • Highly organized, ability to meet deadlines, organize plans, content calendars and keep them up to date.
  • Creative mindset with a scrappy attitude towards building content.
  • Social media platform proficiency including Instagram, Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook (Meta) and YouTube.
  • Social business analytics proficiency required (e.g. Meta Insights)
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required
  • Ability to travel within the Chicagoland area and some domestic travel using airplanes, trains and rental vehicles.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently.
  • Additional language skills are preferred.
