Job description

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is seeking a Boys &Girls Club Area Director II for our B&GC's, located in Tulsa, Ok.
Job Summary
Directs and manages overall daily operations at units/branches/clubs with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery, supervision, and training of staff (direct and indirect reports), facilities management, community relations, and membership administration. Advises and assists Unit Directors/Branch Managers in the areas of volunteer recruitment and management,Advisory Organizational Development, facility management, personnel issues, budget development, and program development. Typically, will work with several Club sites or CIP sites within a command area or region. Provides programs in accordance with and to advance the mission and goals of the organization.Provides leadership, direction, and support to the Area Commander/Corps Officer in developing organizational goals, attaining/allocating resources, and establishing policies. Directs/manages overall operations of the Boys & Girls Club with the primary concern for program and service delivery and implementing program services which advance the mission of The Salvation Army.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of theprinciples and practices of recreation program development.
Knowledge of theprinciples and practices of facility management.
Knowledge of theprinciples and practices of volunteer recruitment.
Knowledge of theprinciples and practices of community relations, development, and fundraising.
Ability to supervise, lead,motivate and influence the staff and patrons of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Ability to develop andimplement promotional and fundraising activities to enhance the outreach andfinancial efforts of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Ability to enforce theBoys & Girls Club rules and to resolve conflicts among patrons visiting theClub to ensure the safety of all patrons and staff.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree froman accredited college or university in business, accounting, or social servicesAND Five (5) years' progressively responsible experience in themanagement, administration and operation of a Boys & Girls Club, with attrack record of at least two years in a leadership capacity of a Cluborganization with multiple sites with a budget of $1.5 Million up to $3M. OR Seven (7) years' experience workingin a similar youth-service organization OR any equivalent combination ofeducation/experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, andabilities.
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred)
Basic First Aid and CPRCertification
Tier 2 BGCA TrainerCertification or ability to obtain.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to meetattendance requirements.
Ability to read, writeand communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to communicateclearly both orally and in writing including the providing of clearinstructions to employees.
Ability to work underthe pressure of deadlines and time constraints.
Ability to establishgoals and objectives and monitor their effective implementation.
Ability to applydiscretion and independent judgment and exercise confidentiality.
Ability to drive avehicle for extended trips.
Combinations of sitting,standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Ability and willingnessto conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization andits Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with thehighest level of professionalism.
Duties are usuallyperformed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods ofstanding or walking.
Limited amount ofphysical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting andcarrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in anindoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physicaldiscomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated withnoise, dust, dirt, and the like.
