QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's or advanced degree with teacher's certificate preferred. Previous Head Coaching experience is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong history of character and adult staff development. The head Boys Cross Country coach must realize and appreciate the need for the program to work with other sports as a complement to the entire athletic department, as well as a demonstrated commitment to the ideals of Catholic and Jesuit education. If a teaching or position is open in the school fitting a candidate's credentials, the coaching candidate may apply separately for that position if interested. All applicants must have a current resume with a fully completed application as directed below.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ability to be available, organize and supervise practice sessions, off-season workouts, and other activities that pertain to a complete Cross Country program including, but not limited to, coordinating summer camps as directed by the Athletic Department.
2. Support the school's Athletic Philosophy, particularly as it pertains to:
   1. Athletic Code of Conduct
   2. Formation
   3. Academic Focus
   4. Athletic Development
3. Provide locker room supervision
4. Hire and oversee assistant coaches within the guidelines of the athletic department mission and handbook
5. Attend all mandated Saint Ignatius/CCL/IHSA meetings and training sessions
6. Responsible for inventory, distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment
7. Maintain appropriate relationships and boundaries with student/athlete, parents, etc

SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the Saint Ignatius College Prep Athletic Director.
