Bookkeeper/Office Assistant

Job Summary

Disaster Services, Inc. is an established temporary housing company based in Annapolis, MD with operations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Since 1996, we have worked with insurance carriers to locate temporary housing for homeowners who have experienced a catastrophic loss to their home.

We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper/Office Assistant that is available for immediate hire on a full-time basis. Duties include managing the accounts receivable, handling of security deposits, office support and resolution of customer service issues.

The ideal candidate should be detail oriented, professional, polite, and possess exceptional organization and communication skills. Must be a reliable and trustworthy team player that is eager to learn with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.

Responsibilities and Duties

As a Bookkeeper / Office Assistant your primary duties will be, but are not limited to:

• Precise and timely management of the accounts receivable to include invoicing and collection.
• Being accountable for the handling of security deposits in their entirety
• Daily office support and resolution of customer service issues
• Occasional outer office tasks

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven bookkeeping experience
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Knowledge of Security Deposit processing is strongly preferred
• High Level Experience with QuickBooks is strongly preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
