Position Summary
The Carver is the largest provider of afterschool and summer programs in Norwalk, CT.

The Bookkeeper/Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of accounts receivable in the Blackbaud accounting system. including processing, tracking, and recording student invoices and payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure invoices and credits are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, miscellaneous differences are cleared, and aging is up to date.
- Generate monthly adjustments to financial aid, and other student discounts.
- Reconcile all cash receipts, bank statements, and other accounts monthly.
- Generate monthly cash receipts report for all program fees collected.
- Create monthly reports for outstanding balances and follow up on aged receivables.
- Handle deposits and entry of all checks received for students in Carver programs.
- Assist with month-end close.
- Assist with audit preparation including audit schedules and draft financial statements.
- Provide recommendations on financial procedures and practice as required.
- Support other accounting and finance team members.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and experience working in non-profit a plus.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Knowledge and execution of accounting best practices
- Attention to detail with the ability to organize complex information accurately.
- Superb time management and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal/collaborative skills
- Ability to work independently to maintain the integrity of the financial data of the organization.
- Strong computer and data analytics skills
- Team-oriented; willingness to pitch in and help out where needed.
- Self-motivated; takes initiative; good judgment; ability to prioritize and work independently.
- Knowledge of Blackbaud FENXT a plus
Salary: Full-time, hourly, $27.50 per hour, plus benefits
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.50 per hour
