Key responsibilities
- Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
- Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections
- Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows
- Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing
- Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents
- Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions- Foundational knowledge in financial reconciliation
- Proven knowledge of Multistate Payroll
- Daily Reconciliation experience required
- General familiarity with multi-state payroll
- Skills in Prepare Journal Entries
- Multi-state payroll experience highly desired
- Well-founded grasp of payroll
- Experience with Monthly Bank Reconciliation
- Good understanding of Post Journal Entries
- Practical knowledge of payroll for under 100 employees
- Strong familiarity with Expense Reconciliation
- Microsoft Excel experience preferred
- Prior experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Wide ranging experience with Process Payroll
- Solid understanding of Credit Card Reconciliation
- Comprehension of bank reconciliations
- Solid understanding of Sales Tax
- Hands-on experience with account reconciliation
- Earlier work involving Reconcile Payroll
- Solid understanding of account reconciliation
- Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
- Previous experience working with Posting Journal Entries
- Quality experience with Payroll Taxes
- High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
- Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree experience a plus
- Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting
- Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate
- Prior payroll experience preferred
- 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field
- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
