Your job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Operating, monitoring, and adjusting water-tube boilers fired on Natural Gas w/ #2 Fuel Oil backup
  • Operating, monitoring, and adjusting auxiliary systems and equipment including pumps, DA tanks, water softeners, heat exchangers and other ancillary utility support systems
  • Testing, monitoring, and adjusting boiler water chemistry
  • Performing daily, monthly, and annual boiler safety checks and inspections
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Central Mechanical Plant according to all established regulatory requirements
For this position, we are seeking highly motivated, experienced and accountable individuals who can work in an industrial, unionized environment on a rotating shift.

Required Qualifications:
  • Be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the U.S. and for Philip Morris USA
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience firing boilers in an industrial setting
  • Have experience with common boiler auxiliary systems and equipment.
  • Have experience with distributive control systems. (Delta-V or similar)
  • Have experience with monitoring and maintaining proper boiler water chemistry
  • Be willing to work a rotating shift and work weekends and holidays
  • Experience working in a 24/7/365 control room environment
  • Have a strong safety orientation
  • Have excellent problem solving abilities
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Have a high degree of initiative and conscientiousness
  • Have the ability to ensure assigned work areas are maintained to meet high safety and housekeeping standards
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
  • Passion and willingness to learn and grow

Rotating Shift:

Rotation thru all 3 shifts over a 28-day cycle, 7 days per shift with 2 days off between shift changes and one long weekend (Fri-Sun) off at the end of rotation. Employees typically work 3 weekends per month on this schedule with days off falling on weekdays (Monday -Thurday). Overtime rates apply for all weekends worked regardless of days off Monday - Friday.

Compensation:

The starting wage for this position is $39.43 per hour with the opportunity to earn over $46.39 an hour after 120 days. Normal work day is (8) hrs. with paid lunch. Weekend Premium: Saturday is paid at time and one-half (1.5) for the first four (4) hours and double time in excess of four (4) hours. Sunday is paid at double time. Holiday Premium: Double time for hours worked in addition to Holiday pay. You will be eligible for a shift differential payment of $0.40 per hour for working B-shift and $0.48 per hour working C-shift. Also, additional compensation may be available to you through our manufacturing incentive program.
