TheBoiler Operatorwill Operate or maintain boilers, or other mechanical equipment to provide utilities for buildings or industrial processes. Operate equipment, such as water and steam boilers.

• Support the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
• This position has been designated as Mission Critical. Mission Critical personnel are defined as those required to meet the Installation’s safety (including inclement weather) and security needs during lockdown conditions.
• Will be a team member on an Emergency Management team such as the CBRNE/HAZMAT Technical team or other team(s) as required by the company to meet contract requirements.
• Operate or tend boilers, and auxiliary equipment such as pumps and air-conditioning equipment, in order to supply and maintain steam or heat for buildings.
• Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts registering various aspects of boiler operation, in order to ensure that boilers are operating properly.
• Activate valves to maintain required amounts of water in boilers, to adjust supplies of combustion air, and to control the flow of fuel into burners.
• Monitor boiler water, chemical, and fuel levels, and make adjustments to maintain required levels.
• Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, instrument readings, and details of equipment malfunctions.
• First response to emergency calls after hours.
• Performs other tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years of training involving both on-the-job experience, work-related skill, knowledge, or experience and informal training with experienced workers.
• Posses a valid state driver’s license and be deemed insurable under company policy.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to read, write and receive written and/or verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to communicate with military and civilian customers on a professional basis.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Ability to lift or move up to 75 pounds.
