Boiler Operator
This Boiler Operator position is responsible for working as a team supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company to safely achieve the highest quality and performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
· Operation of the boiler and natural gas turbine generator ensuring proper performance.
· Performing water tests on the RO, boiler, condensate, and DA tank while maintaining accurate records.
· Control the operation of the evaporators, centrifuges, conveyors, dryers, and grain system in the ethanol process.
· Responsible to assist with various tasks throughout the operation of the plant.
· Participate in solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
· Running various samples in the laboratory and using equipment such as: pH probes, Karl Fischer titrators, acidity meter, microwaves, density meter, and HPLC.
· Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Control by communicating directly with the QA/QC laboratory, sampling and testing process streams as required, and interpreting QA/QC results and taking action when required.
· Participates in plant maintenance, such as performing preventative maintenance as required, assisting maintenance technicians in performing needed repairs, diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.
· Participates in all healthy, safety, and environmental programs.
· Position requires working a 12-hour rotating shift.
· Experience with the operation of front-end loaders, forklift trucks, scissor lifts, skid loaders, and related equipment preferred.
· Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
· Be available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis as required
· Perform all work in accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures
· Perform all work in strict accordance with operating policies, procedures and checklists
Position Requirements and Work Environment:
While performing the essential duties of this position, the Team Member will be exposed to moving, mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and exposed to chemicals. Specific physical requirements include:
· Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, bending, kneeling, crawling and grasping. Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
· Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
· Ability to work in confined spaces and climb several flights of stairs and ladders up to 150 feet.
· Exposure to various environmental conditions
· Must be willing to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances.
· Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety toe boots and hearing protection).
· Ability to work overtime as needed.
· A self-motivated individual that is able to multi-task
· Strong commitment to safety and environmental issues. Willingness to adhere to all safety and health rules, plant rules, procedures and guidelines.
· Computer skills or ability to learn.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Must be able to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedules.
· Possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Must be open-minded and adaptive to change, promote the collective interests of the team more than self-interest, able to resolve problems in a respectful manner.
License/Certification
· 2nd class B boiler license or higher.

Pay:
· $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
