Summary/Objective
The Detail and Car Wash Manager is responsible for the supervision, training, and success of the car wash and detailing team. They are responsible for developing and implementing employee training, driving continual improvement of detailing standards, adherence to processes and procedures, providing performance evaluations and feedback, mentoring, coaching, interviewing and hiring new teammates, and managing the detailing schedule.
Essential Functions
- Inspects all completed carwashes and details daily and ensures that all employees are highly productive and execute their jobs in a manner that meets company standards and customer expectations
- Schedules staff to meet anticipated business demands
- Trains new employees on process and procedures
- Participates in the selection of new employees and makes recommendation on disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and termination
- Orders necessary chemicals and supplies and assists Detailers and Car Washers with tasks
- Assists the sales department and team move, park, and rearrange cars
- Makes sure that employees wash vehicle exterior, interior and exterior windows, and doorjambs
- Makes sure employees apply wax to auto body and wipes or buffs surface
- Makes sure employees vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris
- Makes sure employees cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices
- Makes sure employees apply revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals
- Makes sure employees clean engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents
- Makes sure employees apply special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials, which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations
- Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation
- Makes sure all vehicles have been restored to best of team's ability. This may include restoring appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery, and painted surfaces using touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate material
- Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases
- Ensures work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean
- Follows all attendance and punctuality standards and adheres to timekeeping standards
- Follows the Company Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
- Understands and follows all work rules and procedures and follows directions from Supervisors
- Upholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements
- Maintains a professional appearance for self and subordinates in accordance with company policy
- Attends pertinent training on request
- Attends company meetings as required

Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent; and two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent; one to two year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CAD detailing or supervisory experience is preferred.
