Job Description
Peterson Trucks has a need for a Body Shop Supervisor at our Eugene, OR location.
SUMMARY
The Body Shop Supervisor, Trucks is responsible for Body Shop department activities to provide prompt service to customers and other departments. The Supervisor communicates regularly with other departments and maintains close liaison with customers and key personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise activities of the paint and Body Shop.
  • Plan, conduct, and participate in the repair and painting of damage commercial trucks, buses, RVs, and vans including frame straiting and alignments.
  • Conduct service sales calls to stimulate and promote use of company service capabilities; analyze customer needs and make recommendations; provide estimates where possible.
  • Direct activities of Body Shop personnel to ensure efficient and timely repair and installation work; maintain courteous customer contacts.
  • Oversee work order closing process, reviews work orders for accuracy and completeness and the appropriateness of parts and labor.
  • Operate as profit center; monitor budget during year and adjust as needed, act to control cost and reduce expense; contribute and encourage the submission of cost improvements.
  • Hire and assign personnel; direct instructions and training, discipline; conduct salary and performance reviews; support affirmative action; ensure adherence to company policy, rules and regulations; ensure safe and healthful working conditions; maintain high level of productivity and morale.
  • Maintain good customer relations through phone and personal contact; provide technical assistance as requested.
  • Maintain liaison with parts management at all branch locations; provide technical support.
  • Keep current on technical aspects of function and on relevant company and International policies and procedures.
  • Supervises the purchase and inventory of necessary supplies and equipment and the maintenance and care of all tools and equipment.
  • Operate company or personal vehicle as needed to visit branch locations or customers.
  • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates Degree from a fully accredited college or vocational school in a related field; and a minimum of 5 of years of directly related experience body repair and painting in the automotive, truck, or bus industry, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of diesel truck body repair and servicing and have good working knowledge of all makes of truck lines. Requires ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines, and to interface well with customers.
  • Maintain valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
