Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and our very first autonomous vehicle, Cruise Origin will be assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these outstanding products! The Role:
As the Maintenance Planner you will continually improve planning, scheduling, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency. This individual is responsible for all preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions, recommending solutions to problems, and meeting schedule and quality requirements in addition to other responsibilities that revolve around maintenance and repair within the Body Shop. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing System (GMS), focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).
What You'll Do:
- Promotes, educates, communicates, and follows up on safety initiatives and culture
- Develop cost and time estimate of planned maintenance work
- Schedule maintenance work into production plan
- Handle budget and ensure cost control achieves budget needs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with outside vendors for continuous improvement and issue resolution
- Provide spare parts, maintenance & continuous improvement strategies to the plant’s operations teams
- Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and optimally communicate problem resolution
- Work with product & production teams in process supporting business plan S, P, Q, R, C, E goals
- Demonstrate a leadership role in workplace safety systems, manufacturing processes, equipment, Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) & Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
- Support non-product portfolio (NPP) and Manufacturing Business Case (MBC) projects and strategic project planning
- Fully implement and support terms of local and national labor agreements
- Meet business metrics and continuously improve Maintenance Cycle Between Failure/Maintenance Time to Respond (MCBF/MTTR) using TIP (Throughput Improvement Plan)
- Support and Lead implementation of GMS
- Develop and implement training plan of employees
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5+ years of related maintenance experience within automotive manufacturing
- Experience with Body Shop processes and equipment
- Highly developed knowledge of integration plant floor monitoring systems (PMC/PRT/Web TIP) &/or simulation techniques
- Thorough knowledge of plant safety rules (i.e., Lockout/PTP/SOPs)
- Detailed understanding of planned and predictive maintenance and the Maximo system
- Must be able to work 2nd shift

- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Mechanical, Electrical)
- Management/Supervisory experience
- Experience with Teamcenter
- Experience/knowledge of GM-Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
