Summary:
The Body Shop Estimator provides World Class Customer Service Experience to all customers on the phone, in person and throughout the entire repair process. This position serves as the primary point of contact for the customer throughout the repair process from the point of drop-off through the delivery of the completed vehicle and is responsible for coordinating communications with all other (internal & external) stakeholders for the repair.
Job Responsibilities:
- Continuous sales and relationship building with insurance companies and dealership accounts
- Inspect physical damage of vehicles to determine feasibility of repairs and appropriate replace/repair techniques. Collaborate with technicians to ensure a thorough inspection and accurate damage report is performed. Utilize manufacturer recommended procedures and provide documentation
- Assist repair facility in achieving scheduling and repair goals through maintaining established productivity standards
- Provide estimates for walk in or virtual customers
- Complete process review with customer
- Repair Orders: file reconciliation, payroll, supplement documentation
- Prepare and complete proper paperwork for final customer packet prior to vehicle delivery
- Repair plan maintenance and documentation
- Provide repair plan communication including all vehicle status updates
- Total loss administration
- Comply with all safety rules, guidelines and standards
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring outstanding customer service experience
Requirements:
- Strong negotiating and communication skills for providing client service and maintaining effective working relationships
- Minimum of 1 year experience Automotive Industry and/or minimum 1 year experience as an Auto Physical Damage Estimator or equivalent job experience
- Excellent computer skills including knowledge of estimating programs(CCC preferred)
- Previous experience with insurance company relations preferred
- Previous experience in a high volume shop preferred
- Working knowledge of DRP programs
- Strong sales orientation
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under Toyota of North Charlotte’s insurance policy
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check
- Ability to effectively communicate with others, verbal and written
- Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates and work orders
- Organization and multi-tasking skills, good time management and adapts easily to a fast-paced environment
- Personable, friendly demeanor with an outstanding customer service approach with internal and external customers
- Well groomed, professional appearance
- Strong administrative skills
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during the disassembly/estimating of a vehicle
- Occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet or humid conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
