Job Summary:
The Circuit Board Technician will work in an electronics repair facility. This technician will repair electronic circuit boards, AC and DC motor drives, power supplies, PLC's and other electromechanical devices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, Repair and live test circuit boards properly and completely.
- Repairs all units properly and completely, observing EFS’ standards of quality, so as to prevent warranty returns and call backs.
- Maintain a high level of productivity (Approx. 12 units per day or higher) without compromising EFS’ quality standards.
- Regularly reference, update, and use in-house manuals and/or documentation during the repair process.
- Maintain test bed machines within their OEM group, repairing any observed deficiencies.
- Complete all paperwork and/or electronic reporting concerning the circuit board repairs.
- Adhere to ESD guidelines.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned by manager.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be capable of component-level troubleshooting, including component testing, and replacement.
- Must be experienced and familiar with the use of tools that are key to printed circuit repair, such as the Huntron Tracker
- Good soldering skills for both through-hole and surface mount devices.
- Familiar with digital theory and fundamentals of microprocessors-based systems.
- Works well independently and with others.
- Good communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates degree, Bachelors degree or equivalent military training in electronics or electrical engineering is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Able to bend over, twist, push, pull, walk, climb stairs.
- Must be able to visually inspect circuit boards. 20/20 vision either natural or corrected.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
