Position Summary
Operate plant equipment and make sure it is operating safely and efficiently. You may need to transport materials, check equipment, monitor loading/offloading/transloading process and keep operating records.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Follow written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties.
- Spot Bulk trucks or ISO’s into designated offloading areas.
- Apply grounding cables to carry off static electricity.
- Position hoses to unload the product into the designated spots by connecting hoses to manifolds, transfer lines and filter housing.
- Monitor loading/offloading process including watching gauges, pressurizing/ depressurizing bulk units and or by visually monitoring levels which may require the need to climb up onto tank trucks or railcars by ladder.
- Open/Close valves, recoil hoses onto hose rack which requires pulling and reaching.
- Perform tasks assigned to operations such as quality inspections, equipment preparation, process sampling, operating equipment, perform inventory movements (physical and within company ERP system), unloading/loading product from rail cars, tanks, ISO’s, tank trucks, totes, drums, and pails.
- Calculate/monitor storage capacity on receiving vessels such as: storage tanks, rail cars, tank trucks and ISO’s.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report the following to supervisor: equipment defects or malfunctions; out of spec material or contamination; safety issues or incidents.
- Complete paperwork and other minor administrative tasks carefully ensuring all information is entered correctly and clearly.
- Perform plant cleanup standard tasks including daily facility inspections, housekeeping chores on grounds and buildings.

Knowledge and Skills:
- High School Graduate or GED desired but not required.
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years industrial/petrochemical or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of and experience working with hazardous materials.
Skills and Competencies:
- Must be able to multitask, stay organized, detailed, and focused and show a high level of initiative.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately and completely, understand the importance of detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively to team members and management.
- Computer/ERP system experience.
- Must have a desire to learn, grow and take on additional responsibilities.
- Must be able to learn quickly, retain knowledge and follow instructions.
- Must be able to read and interpret a Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands and arms to handle, feel, or reach.
- The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
