Position Summary
Under the direction of the Blending Supervisor, the Blending Operator (C) main task is to:
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Must understand Nitrogen blanketing, purging and drying process.
- Must understand sampling procedure (railcar, truck and tank)
- Learn basic product identification
- Proper hose section, cleaning and storage
- Must understand the dry air system
- Must be able to apply steam to railcars, trucks, tanks and pumps in a safe manner.
- Perform plant cleanup standards tasks during and at the end of an operation or workday.
- Follow all blend formulations and ensure all components are accurately formulated in the blender.
- Document all final blends including date, time, blender name, components, location, weight, and operator completing the blend form.
- Daily communication with supervisor for any concerns regarding equipment or operations.
- Ensure tracks are clear, assist on all switches.
- Pull all incoming/outgoing samples for lab analysis.
- Ensure proper seals are in place for all loaded railcars.
- Follow proper procedures for loading bulk trucks, including the inspection of proper connections, operations, and AX system (Dynamics) completion.
- Complete transloading operations per work order, including proper hose connections between railcars.
- Work in a safe manner and follow all company rules and policies concerning safety and PPE.
- Ensure that you have a productive, safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
- Conduct visual checks of machinery and escalate any issues to appropriate management or maintenance.
- Adhere to all internal Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/ Lead.

Knowledge and Skills:
- High School Graduate or GED desired but not required.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months blending experience
Skills and Competencies:
- Have general knowledge of plant safety rules
- Must be forklift certified
- Be ready and willing to receive standard training
- Must be able to read and interpret an SDS.
- Must be able to read and process an order in an adequate time.
- Knowledge of our quality policy and objectives.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in handling bulk tanker trucks, railcars, ISO containers and/or blending environment.
- Good math, language, and reading skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
- Able to follow instructions.
- Knowledge of proper PPE requirements.
- Functional knowledge of handling rail cars and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills may be required.
- Be ready and willing to receive standard training.
- Ability to read tape measures for tank gauging purposes.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The team member is occasionally required to sit.
- The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds and occasionally move or manipulate drums weighing between 200-400 pounds.
