We have an opening for a full-time Blade Utility Operator/Inspector first shift 6:00 am - 2:30 pm with overtime and occasional Saturdays.
Job Description:
Responsible for utilizing tooling, equipment and materials to inspect and qualify segmented diamond blades for physical and dimensional integrity. This position is critical for production of segmented diamond blades.
Job Requirements:
Quality control of segmented diamond blades. Record quality and order completion data.
Machinery:
Organization and selection of proper tooling to fulfill work requirements. Maintain general knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing equipment operation. Cleaning of equipment for preparation of subsequent orders.
Measurements:
Quality Checks on segmented diamond blades to include gauge measurement of side clearance, lateral and peripheral run out. Tension testing for core flatness, lateral run out and correction by hammering and/or roll tensioning as needed. Torque testing and visual inspection of weld joints and/or brazing for cosmetic appearance and structural integrity. Evaluate and confer with Quality Control on manufacturing process inspection techniques and standards.
Functional Skills and Knowledge:
Working knowledge of basic industrial math. Working knowledge of the metric system of weights and measurements, diamond tool design elements, and using micrometers for measurements. Working knowledge of tools, equipment and measuring devices for tension testing and correction. Ability to lift, push/pull and stand for long periods of time. Frequently lifting up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequently push/pull up to 20 lbs.
