Production Utility Operator

Job Summary: The Utility Operator Level 1 involves a range of tasks related to operating machinery and supporting production processes. The Utility Operator Level 1 is responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of manufacturing machinery and equipment. This role involves being the support to higher level Utility Operators while ensuring efficient production processes and maintaining quality standards in accordance with company procedures.

Utility Operator Level 1 Responsibilities:

• Take guidance and instruction from all higher levels of Utility Operators in the learning of new skills and information pertaining to troubleshooting, setup, and quality inspection while allowing them to help assist with setup of production order(s)

• Verifies the materials needed for production according to order.

• Packing product in crates or on skids/pallets as product is produced according to specifications.

• Verifies and keeps records of production rolls, quality, and any other reporting required for production.

• Assists production floor by assembling and staging tooling and raw materials to maintain production schedule.

• Assembles wood or cardboard or other packaging as required, to include labeling.

• Ability to always maintain an organized and safe facility.

• Ability to operate a forklift when required or as needed.

• Ability to manage machining projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

• Ability to produce a level of skill, experience, and understanding of the machinery being operated.

• Ability to ensure efficient production, maintain quality standards, and contribute to process improvements.

• Maintain accurate records of machine operations, and any incidents or issues encountered.

Skills/Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in manufacturing or a related field is a

plus.

• 1+ years of experience as a production associate/machine operator or worked in a manufacturing setting that includes setting up, taking measurements, quality inspection, packaging, and converting is preferred but not required.

• Forklift experience is preferred but not required.

• Excellent organizational skills and communication skills

• Familiarity with computer systems, touchscreens, etc. is highly recommended.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work as a team and individually when necessary.

• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to adapt to new technologies, processes, and tools in a rapidly evolving manufacturing environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

• Spartanburg, SC 29303: Relocate before starting work (Required)
