The Oregon State University HERS Lab is working with the National Park Service Upper Columbia Basin Inventory and Monitoring Network ( UCBN) and Big Hole National Battlefield to hire one Biological Field Research Technician 3 to support NPS vegetation management objectives at Big Hole National Battlefield ( BIHO).
The BSRT will largely work independently with assistance from individuals dependent upon project tasks. The BSRT will identify, map, treat, follow up, and report on invasive species control efforts in BIHO, in addition to collecting native seed for restoration efforts to be used after control treatments have been implemented.
They will follow best management practices associated with B. tectorum and C. stoebe control. Herbicide applications will be made following all NPS and product label safety guidelines.
