Bioinformatics Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Scientist who wants the opportunity to significantly impact the growth and success of our RNA genomics programs. The successful scientist is expected to be self-motivated, detail oriented, have an understanding of RNA biology, and have the ability to work cross functionally between departments.
Job responsibilities
- Execute existing standard analysis pipelines on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data using the AWS cloud platform
- Develop novel bioinformatic analyses for interrogating RNA biology and integrating across our assays
- Create data visualizations which highlight the value of our technologies for our biopharma partners and assist in the development of interactive reports
- Collaborate cross-functionally with scientists and commercial team members
- Track projects, prepare technical reports, and communicate results to internal stakeholders and our external partners
- Documentation of data analysis procedures and results
Requirements
- Masters or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Biology, or related discipline
- Experience performing data analysis of NGS data (e.g. RNA-seq). Previous experience with immunoprecipitation-based methods (CLIP-seq, ChIP-seq, or similar) a plus
- Familiarity with standard bioinformatic software tools for high-throughput sequencing data processing (e.g. STAR, bowtie, samtools, bedtools, or related software)
- Proficiency in Python and/or R
- Experience using cloud computing and cloud storage (AWS EC2, S3)
- Understanding of software versioning and best practices (GitHub)
- Experience with workflow managers for reproducible analyses (Snakemake preferred)
- Proven ability to organize, track projects and coordinate complex activities requiring accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with scientific communication to both scientific and lay audiences is preferred
- Industry and/or customer-facing experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid possible
Salary Range: $80,000-$115,000 based on experience
