We have an opportunity for a Sr Structural Designer! The ideal candidate for this role will perform with increasing independence and be able to exercise some judgment in accordance with well-defined procedures and techniques. It would require referring complex or unusual problems to a senior-level technician or a supervisor as well as periodic review of output by a technical lead, supervisor, or direct “customers” of the process. Position is located in Dunwoody and is full time. Knowledge of structural, construction and revit are required.
Responsibilities:
Performs all the standard and some specialized or more complex aspects of the function.
Collaborates and coordinates internally or/and externally with other disciplines to ensure deliverables are compliant with project specifications, design and model changes, client expectations, and adhere to established organizational standards and quality protocols.
Develops accurate construction drawings and extracts data based on the discipline BIM platform
Works directly with structural engineers and structural designers to produce renderings that align with the standards and goals set in the execution plan and project workflow criteria
Coordinates design documentation as a methodology with full utilization of BIM software and tools
Keeps current on best practices in BIM and BIM software Creates discipline specific BIM Modelling content
Applies and ensures any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams
Preparing BIM generated structural construction drawings for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, historical, public sector, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovations.

Qualifications:
HS diploma or GED; may require technical certification or associate degree.
5 years or more of directly related experience.
Revit Proficiency is required
Experience with steel, load-bearing light gage steel, concrete, and masonry design in low to mid-rise structures, including shallow and deep foundation system.

Skills and Competencies:
Readily learns and applies new information and concepts to past practices and knowledge.
Deviations from the established workflow are enacted in consultation with technical lead and/or approved by the supervisor before proceeding.

Must be a self-starter and always willing to listen, learn and improve.
