Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Complies with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures.
- Complies with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
- Visits job sites to determine their electrical prefabrication requirements. This includes performing LiDAR scans and file registration.
- Conducts field surveys to best understand the layout of prefabrication assemblies.
- Calculates basic electrical formulas.
- Designs and prepares building electrical prints and specifications for prefabrication assembly.
- Produces and reviews prefabrication assembly layout plans.
- Maintains knowledge of latest materials and installation techniques.
- Prepares material requisitions for Prefabrication Manager.
- Prepares as-built drawings.
- Prepares and maintains stick files, fixture cuts and electrical specifications.
- Recommends improved methods of operation.
- Keeps abreast of new developments and techniques in the electrical construction trade.
- Understands the clash detection process and coordinates with others both internally and other trades associated with projects.
- Participates in coordination meetings with BIM Manager and provides input.
- Navigates and works in a Revit central model work shared project environment.
- Reads and reviews documents for design compliance and identifies changes necessary.
- Understands the use of submittal information and creates accurate models for coordination purposes.
Job Qualifications
Skills/Educational Requirements:
- Six years' field experience in electrical trade installing systems and knowledge of electrical code.
- High School diploma plus two years technical training experience; specifically in electrical trade.
- Two years' experience as electrical draftsperson.
- Experience and understanding with Revit 2019-2022 with an emphasis in electrical, Navisworks Manager 2019-2020, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Leica Cyclone 360, Autodesk Recap, and Bluebeam Revu.
- Must have working knowledge of Navisworks.
- Experience performing in field LiDAR scans and registering files used for coordination.
- Experience in utilizing clash detection models is preferred.
- Experience using Autodesk Points Layout for field installation.
- Ability to follow drafting and department standards.
- Ability to read and review construction documents.
- Understanding basic drafting best practices, 3D modeling and math skills.
- Working knowledge of National Electrical Code and electrical formulas.
- Good understanding of and ability to apply OHM's Law.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good human relations skills.
- Good character, self-motivated.
Physical Requirements:
- Working a minimum of 40 hours/week.
- Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day.
- Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders.
- Repetitive use of hands for writing, typing, data entry, and filing.
- Vision adequate for daily and consistent computer use and reading.
- Hearing adequate for phone use.
- Standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, bending, twisting, and walking as needed to perform site surveys to collect data for project design.
- Balance adequate for climbing ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
- Environmental factors include working in: temperature extremes of 0 F to 100 F up to 8 hours inside or outside; atmospheric exposure to dust, gases, fumes, odors; and poor ventilation in confined spaces.
- Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
- Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and hearing protection.
