Billing Specialist

Brave Talk Therapy is seeking to hire a new Billing Specialist for our staff of 7-10 clinicians. This position would start off part-time (approx 5-8 hrs per week); with about 20-25 hours in month. Hours are able to increase depending on the practice's overall growth and the candidate's willingness to assume additional responsibilities. Currently, this position would work with one other part-time billing team member, but roles/responsibilities could shift based on the candidate's background/experience/expertise. While this is a remote position, biller would ideally be able to come work in the Chicago based office as needed.

Responsibilities include:
Claim submissions and applying remittances through the Therapy Notes EHR platform
Correcting/resubmitting claims
Claim appeal
Benefit Checks
Preparing reports for payroll
Twice-monthly claim audit
Following up with clinicians (re: missed copays, insurance issues) via email

Position Requirements:
Able to prioritize daily tasks and manage time efficiently
Develop systems to improve the efficiency of billing processes
Strong customer skills to efficiently communicate with patients, staff, and insurance companies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and self-directed; able to work with minimal supervision
Work a MINIMUM of 4 days per week

Preferred Experience
Proficiency with Therapy Notes EHR, Office Ally, Optum Pay and Availity
2+ years of work experience in a healthcare setting
Proficient in Excel and Google Drive
