The Billing Representative position is responsible for verifying and updating patient policy information, as required, via portal. Assist clinical staff with questions and issues regarding managed care plans. As a team member you will be expected to help identify any inefficiencies in existing workflows and give input in creating potential new workflows involving managed care functions with management approval.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. May have to go onsite once in awhile for a meeting or a training. Our office is located at 2716 N TENAYA WAY, LAS VEGAS, NV.

• All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Respond to requests for account updates related to Facets and/or merging of duplicate accounts from Referrals, Scheduling, CAS (IT), Clinical Staff and Business Office Staff as a priority daily.
• Work RCx Pending Carrier rule daily and complete updates as required in practice management system after verifying eligibility in Facets.
• Work Claim Data Errors within practice management system and make required corrections after verifying eligibility.
• Work Void eligibility report daily and update/verify eligibility/PCP/benefit plan for at least 100 accounts per hour of assigned volume.
• Review and understand insurance explanation of benefits/remittance advices and terminology.
• Contact the insurance company to check claims status, inquire about denials and what is needed to resolve.
• Write appeals when payable codes are denied, as needed.
• Resolve questions and issues, escalate complex issues up to management.
• Work collaboratively with other team members.
• Work other projects as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma / GED OR equivalent experience
• Must be 18 years old or older
• 1+ years experience in a role verifying healthcare insurance eligibility and reviewing benefit information.
• Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft office proficiency)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical Billing Experience
• Allscripts Practice Management system experience

Telecommuting Requirements:

• Reside within commutable distance to the office location - 2716 N TENAYA WAY, LAS VEGAS, NV.
• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $16.54 - $32.55 per hour.
