About Our Client:
Our client, a diverse international law firm specializing in corporate law, finance, litigation, intellectual property, and real estate, seeks a Billing Manager for their Nashville downtown office. The Billing Manager will oversee a sizable team, providing mentorship, training, and continuous feedback. Responsibilities include conducting annual performance evaluations,managing billing workloads, overseeing schedules and overtime, leading staff meetings, and supervising the timely printing and distribution of prebills, as well as the processing of invoices. This position reports to the Director of Firmwide Billing.
Job Responsibilities:
?Conduct interviews and training for new billing staff
?Liaise between attorneys and billing staff as necessary to ensure strong working relationships between partners, administrative support staff, and the Finance Department and billing team.
?Manage the unbilled and accounts receivable balances for a limited, assigned group of lawyers/clients.
?Maintain a thorough knowledge of client billing and payment terms, discount arrangements, as well as lawyer and client preferences to ensure that bills are issued in a timely and accurate manner and that client and lawyer preferences are appropriately considered.
?Make recommendations for write-offs of aged or disputed balances where appropriate.
?Make recommendations to management on strategies for improving internal processes that maximize productivity and quality of work.
?Work with attorneys on any billing issues, overseeing the preparation and maintenance of monthly billing reports.
?Investigate and resolve client billing inquiries, especially aged unbilled inventory.
?Streamline the billing processes for maximum efficiency.
?Troubleshoot submission issues and additional duties and special projects as needed.

?Candidates must be highly skilled, efficient and organized.
?Extreme attention to detail and accuracy, and excellent time management skills required for successful achievement of position goals in this deadline-oriented role. Excellent communication skills are key.
?The ideal candidate will be a team leader, have exceptional interpersonal skills, and be able to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of the firm. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow through and follow up are critical.
?Must be service-driven and able to multi-task and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities. Candidates should have 5-10 years of related billing/accounting or financial experience; previous law firm or legal billing experience and possess a working knowledge of time and billing software and general computer software knowledge. E-billing and/or Aderant experience preferred.
Pay Benefits Summary:
?Starting salary is $110,000.
