Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Billing Representative to join our team. As a Billing Representative, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of billing and invoicing for our company. This is a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes, maintaining financial records, and providing excellent customer service.
The Patient Account Representative performs with the detailed insurance, accounting, and information processing activities involved in processing patient and facility charges and payments. He/she performs duties involved in the preparation and processing of patient insurance claims, facility billing, secondary billing, cash deposits, payment allocations, collections, write-offs and adjustments.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and send out invoices to customers
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data
- Resolve any billing discrepancies or issues
- Process credit memos and adjustments
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate billing information
- Maintain customer files and update account information as needed
- Prepare and analyze billing reports for management
Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age;
2. Must be a high school graduate or have an equivalent (GED);
3. Must be of good moral character;
4. Must be able to comprehend and follow directions;
5. Must be willing to work with other personnel;
6. Knowledge of general accounting principles in the form of 2 years of post-secondary education in accounting or a related business field, or 3 years of medical billing experience sufficient to acquire knowledge of the accepted practices involved in processing claims and maintaining records, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
8. Knowledge and understanding of billing and collection procedures, insurance claims processing, statistical reporting, accounting and bookkeeping principles, and editing and proofing procedures.
9. Proficient in data entry and analysis
10. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
11. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
12. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
13. Excellent communication and customer service skills
