POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Associate Program Director, the primary role of the Program Manager, Casa Esperanza will be to provide leadership and oversight to Casa Esperanza Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Program for young adults exiting homelessness.  The Program Manager is responsible for the hiring; training and supervision of all program staff, some program development and evaluation, quality and coordinated service delivery within a supportive housing setting for transition aged youth.  In addition, the Program Manager develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community providers, including referral agencies, and resource agencies.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

With the support of the Associate Director:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of daily program operations
  • Ensure the provision of basic services, special projects/activities, and an emotionally and physically safe, clean, and supportive environment
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, training, and ongoing development of program staff
  • Supervise using best practices for services delivery
  • Manage program budget and ensure agency procedures are followed
  • Coordinate intakes and assessments; support case managers in keeping charts and paperwork up-to-date and complete
  • Complete monthly reports and ensure timely and accurate data collection processes
  • Program development and evaluation
  • Plan and facilitate program staff meetings
  • Participate in agency planning activities
  • Represent agency as liaison to community resources
  • Represent agency at community meetings/activities, when appropriate
  • Attend and participate in agency management meetings
  • Hold On-Call manager responsibilities as assigned and scheduled in rotation
  • Actively participate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work within the agency, along with managing programs with a lens on DEI
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. May consider education and experience in lieu of degree. 

 BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience working with transitional age youth, especially at-risk, high risk, homeless, or runaway youth.
  • Working knowledge of issues facing homeless and/or at-risk youth and young adults required.
  • Ability to work with diverse staff, clients, and volunteers in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Requires ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition 25 lbs.; Ability to reach, bend and walk; Finger manipulation.
  • Ability to comprehend complex materials.
  • Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with youth in a residential setting.
  • Knowledge of homeless services.
  • Experience working with youth with mental health and substance use issues.
  • Experience working with Gay, Bisexual, Queer, MSM and/or Trans/GNC identified young people.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus.
