The Neighborhood Charter Network (NCN) is a grassroots organization that launched in 2016 in order to manage a growing family of schools in Indianapolis, IN. The mission of The Neighborhood Charter Network is to expand educational equity to the communities we serve.

Job Summary:

NCN schools use a sheltered English immersion program to support students identified as Multilingual learners (MLs). Our ML teachers and Bilingual Instructional Assistants (BIAs) are critical to the model, both in terms of direct student services and teacher support. You can find our ML teachers & BIAs providing instructional support to small-groups of students both inside and outside of the classroom as well as co-teaching with a content teacher, whichever is deemed most appropriate to support that particular group of students. They can also be found collaboratively planning alongside content teachers, providing scaffolding recommendations for ML students or providing professional development related to ML best practices. Our work is grounded in data, so our ML teachers & BIAs also review student data regularly to figure out what’s working and what’s not yet in order to provide the most effective support possible. Each student is unique, and our ML teachers continuously find ways to ensure they help all our students learn.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Collaborates with grade level/content teachers for instructional purposes.
2. Executes students’ ILPs with integrity.
3. Assist grade level and content teachers in monitoring students’ goals.
4. Provide services/ML instruction to assigned grades based on data.
5. Support grade level/content teacher implementation of content and language instruction.
6. Participate in professional development as required for both content and language instruction development as required.
7. Attend good cause exemption meetings as requested by ML coordinator.
8. Collaborates with grade-level and content teachers to complete data analysis after obtaining local and state testing results.
9. Participates in school level family engagement activities as requested.
10. Participates in student-led conferences as requested.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Has a passion for working in Indianapolis and working at Enlace Academy
• Has demonstrated proficiency with using data to drive instructional results
• Has a dedication to helping children grow and learn
• Experience with working with Multilingual Learners
• Must be bilingual in English and Haitian-Creole
