Substance Abuse Counselor Part Time Bilingual Eng/Span
Job Summary
- Must be willing to work in Hemet, CA
- All employees work onsite, not remotely.
- Currently offering counseling onsite only.
- Compensation rate is dependent upon experience & Certification Status.
- It is preferred that you are Fully Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Will be responsible for facilitating group-counseling, face-to-face counseling and education services for DUI Program participants. Also responsible for case management, reports and record keeping, electronic and physical charting, etc.
General Accountabilities
- Facilitates therapeutic and relevant group-counseling sessions with up to 15 participants for a period of 2 hours per session.
- Facilitates DUI Education sessions with up to 35 participants for a period of 2 hours per session.
- Schedules and facilitates face-to-face counseling sessions for each participant in a timely fashion, in compliance with 9CCR guidelines. Interviews program participants on medical, social, and criminal history and obtains other pertinent information with which to evaluate the needs of the client. Refers client to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.
- Supplies accurate and immediate documentation of each activity attended, and maintains complete case files for each participant, both electronic and physical.

Job Qualifications
- Education: Degree or Certificate in Addiction Counseling
- Experience: Appropriate State of CA Certification with 2 years of related experience. Experience can include intern and volunteer hours.
- Knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and strong intermediate computer skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work diligently without constant supervision.

Availability
- Must be available Mon through Thurs from 4pm to 8pm, and on Sat from 7am to 3:30pm.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

- Are you available during the hours we need to fill? Monday through Thursday, approximately 4pm to 8:30pm and Saturdays from 7am until 3:30pm.
- Can you reliably commute to Hemet, CA?
- Do you have a valid CA state certification for substance abuse counseling? (Meaning that you have completed all required education and have passed the CA State certification exam through CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE.) If not, are you currently registered with education completed, and close to being able to take the exam? (Requires 2,240 - 3000 hours of supervised work experience as an AOD Counselor.)
- Are you interested only in Part Time employment? Availability of hours may increase in the future.

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- AOD Counseling (including intern/volunteer): 2 years (Preferred)
